Catherina Lissner was born in 1976 in a town called Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz) - a fact that is untill today written in her passport and has given her grief when travelling to the US. At age 7 she started to explore clay and has since not given up on it. She likes the simple pleasure of creating something by hand as well as playing with form and colour. Her work - which contains mostly useful pieces - has been exhibited in craftsmen shows and at the studio she is sharing with other potterers. The objects shown at this web page are entirely handmade - partially thrown others coiled. No piece is alike another and changes of colour might be possible.
Catherina is an architect educated in Dresden/ Germany. During her studies she worked a semester with an architect in Seattle. After her examination she took the step yet to another country and started working on an island near Stockholm/ Sweden. Just recently she switched to another office in central Stockholm where she will be working as a projekt architect.
